Satisfy your craving for better marketing results.
I love Halloween but since I can’t afford to give everyone candy, this will have to do

31 days of marketing tricks & treats

As a little experiment, I created a "Marketing Tricks & Treats" series! You’ll find daily tips on SEO, email marketing, ethical marketing, and working more sustainably every day this month. You can follow along and save/share your favourites on LinkedIn, Instagram, or Facebook.

Extra tip: these didn’t take me as long as you might think, because these are reuses of content I’ve created over the years. Just another example of content distribution at work!

My question to you: what tidbits could you share with your ideal audience to support them in the work you do?

50 social selling statistics you need to know in 2023

I believe marketing is like dating and sales is like marriage. But I don’t think they have to be mutually exclusive. They are part of the same continuum, IMO. Which is why I think you should check out these 50 social selling statistics to think about social media as a bridge between marketing and sales.

But how do you do it in a way that feels authentic and not pushy? Your marketing warms your audience up when you do connect with them 1:1, that’s how!

My question to you: do you set aside some of your marketing material to talk about the sort of clients and work you want to do more of? You don’t want to be overly promotional, but sometimes we assume people know what we offer, and they need to be shown in multiple ways!

Incredible icons and photos for literally everything

The Noun Project is a huuuuuge repository of icons and photos for your next marketing project. I mean, just type in “houseplant” and be amazed at the variety of plant types, line thickness, and style.

For free, you can access all the icons and select images as long as you attribute them to the Noun Project. For a low subscription or per-use fee, you can change the icon colours, access more images, and get other perks.

My question to you: are you limiting your online expression by using the same stale assets over and over? There are lots of budget-conscious options out there, like the Noun Project. A worthy investment!

Take your Google docs to the next aesthetic level

Sometimes you just have to hammer something out in a Google Doc for yourself. But other times, you’ll be sharing it with team members or clients. Here are some easy ways to transform your Google Docs into a better aesthetic experience. Basically, it’s like a little graphic design 101 course in under 4 minutes.

My question to you: are there small visual tweaks you could make to your marketing assets that give that create an extra "branded" factor to help you stand out from your contemporaries?

Accountability: an important part of marketing when you’re doing it all yourself

Some of the greatest growth moments for me personally and professionally happened because I had
someone else in my corner. Dagmar my business coach... Brittany my therapist... the 5 awesome peeps in my mastermind... too many to list!

All of them have been with me in moments of joy and doubt, holding me accountable to my goals and values.

I have witnessed the transformative power of accountability for my marketing clients, too. There is power when two people gather to elevate an idea, fix a problem, or celebrate success.

In terms of marketing as a solo founder or marketing/communications lead, maybe the last thing you need right now is another marketing tactic. Instead, you may be seeking:

  • Fresh perspective: two heads create more innovation and creativity. Especially in reworking what you already have.

  • Double the person-power: “divide and conquer” becomes less of a strategy and more a norm to finally... Get. Shit. Done.

  • Being understood: no one wants to be alone with their struggles, indecision, and roadblocks. It can seem like you're working in a void, when what you need is another human saying "I see what you're doing, and I appreciate what you're doing".

  • Cutting the bullshit: advocating for your audience, encouraging you to do more of what you’re capable of, and disrupting patterns that no longer serve you.

  • Getting back to what you love: this shouldn’t be a luxury but a well-deserved reality!

Sustainable marketing isn't just about tactics, reports, and soul-draining webinars; it's about continuous growth and genuine engagement.

Partnering with a trusted marketing consultant can bring this accountability, offering expertise and a fresh perspective, allowing you to get back to your passion.

If any of this resonates with you, I’d love to chat. Maybe I can be that lucky person to lift you up and help your work shine.
